Desire to Dream to Reality Journey of an Alumni Association

Ispahani Public School & College, Cumilla Cantonment was established in September 1962 with the generous contribution of the renowned Ispahani family. The land was granted by the then Comilla cantonment authority, marking a significant milestone in the region's educational landscape. It stood as a pioneer public boarding school, akin to prestigious institutions found in the UK. After the liberation war in 1971, it underwent a transformation, emerging as one of the most esteemed educational institutions in Bangladesh, alongside four other cadet colleges and three residential model schools & colleges of that time.

The alumni association of a school of this stature had been fervently desired by the alma mater's ex-students since the 90s. Over the years, ex-students began visiting the school premises during annual sports days, fostering a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia. The culmination of this longing materialized in 1999, with the inaugural alumni gathering held on the school/college premises. This event marked the beginning of a tradition that was further enriched by subsequent gatherings and reunions.

In 2008, a grand gathering followed by concerts was held at RAOWWA Club (Dhaka) signifying the growing momentum of the alumni community. Despite several attempts to formalize an alumni association through meetings at prestigious venues like Uttara Club, Dhanmondi Club and Dhaka Club, bureaucratic hurdles impeded progress, but the spirit remained undaunted.

The landmark 50-year anniversary celebration in 2011/2012 served as a poignant reminder of the absence of an official alumni association. Yet, the deadlock persisted and unfortunately no headway could be made. Finally, decades of heartfelt desire of so many were materialized when a group of enthusiastic ex-students convened for a luncheon on 1st May 2024 at Army Golf Club, Dhaka, determined to rectify this oversight. It was decided to establish a proper alumni association, duly endorsed by the government and registered under the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Bangladesh.

An Executive committee was swiftly formed through a democratic process, garnering support from ex-students present at the ceremony. This committee promptly convened to form an Advisory Committee to accommodate eligible ex-students from the past who actively supported the association's formation for their help and support in achieving our objectives. Now, this Executive Committee earnestly calls upon all ex-students to rally behind this noble initiative and support the formation of an alumni association for the illustrious Ispahani Public School and College of Cumilla cantonment. While carrying out school and allumni related activities, we aim to make our mark as a social welfare organization by helping and supporting the less fortunate members of our society by standing beside them in times of need. Hence, the allumni has been registered with the social welfare department of Govrnment of Bangladesh. Details of the Association, the Committees, the enrolment and other processes etc will be intimidated in due course of time, through this official website.

As the 1st ever elected President of Gloroius Cumilla Ispahanians (GIC), I welcome all my brothers and sisters (Ex Students) of IPSC to join and bolster our ranks to uphold the time-honored traditions of our great Alma Mater and bring name and fame to this esteemed institution and also to our revered alumni association. I fervently seek your goodwill, support and heartiest cooperation in making our venture an astounding success in the coming days. May Allah bless us all.
